Abstract

The name solid waste has become the subject of major discourses in recent years. In the daily national many know only as trash. The definition of solid waste is well diversified, being quite broad according to the author. In Brazil, most Brazilian municipalities discard their generated waste in unsuitable places, known as dump sites. Due to this problem, the objective of this work was to evaluate the adsorption capacity of Cd, Ni and Pb present in the slurry by the minerals of the clay fraction (Gt and Hm) in three different areas with solid waste disposal. This work was carried out in the cities of Jandaia, Palminópolis and Paraúna, all belonging to the state of Goiás. Initially, the horizons were characterized in each profile and then 1 kg of soil sample was collected. The physical attributes analyzed were: structure, consistency and also the transition of all horizons, soil color, soil texture. The chemical analyzes were: pH in CaCl2, P (Mehl), K, Ca, Mg, H + Al, Al, CTC, M, V% and M.O. The levels of Cd, Ni and Pb were also analyzed. In addition to the aforementioned analyzes, mineralogical analyzes as well as magnetic susceptibility of all soils were carried out. Soils were classified as: Jandaia: ARGISSOL Dystrophic red (PVd); Paraúna: HABPLIC CHAMBERSHIP Dystrophic Ta (CXvd); Palminópolis: PLINTOSOLO Argilúvico eutrófico (FTe). Among all soils, the PVd were the soils with the highest amount of clay. According to chemical analysis and heavy metals, all the studied soils did not present characteristics of contamination. However, it was concluded that: the soils of the three municipalities did not present contamination by any of the metals studied when compared to the laws and regulations in force.
