Geopolítica dos conflitos : agroecologia e movimentos sociais na resistência ao agronegócio em Goiás

Abstract

This research brings a discussion about the geopolitics of conflicts between agribusiness and Agroecology in the State of Goiás, emphasizing the role of the State and of the social movements. In this sense, the territory is understood as a field of forces where conflicts and the resistance of social movements to agribusiness, through agroecology, occur. The study also highlighted the coalition of the State with agribusiness, promoting, by Public Policies, the structuring and maintenance of this productive model in the country, guiding Brazilian production towards the international circuit of commodities. Thus, the process of building Public Policies with an agroecological focus was also worked on. Therefore, to carry out the study, several methodological procedures were used, supported by qualitative research. Fieldwork at the Canudos Settlement (Assentamento Canudos) was also used, with the aim of highlighting the materialization of agroecology and its political dimension in the Colmeia Social Collective (Coletivo Colmeia). As a result, it was possible to see empirically how Agroecology, through social movements and the production of healthy foods, denies agribusiness and presents itself as the only viable alternative for a life project. Finally, the research showed that the geopolitics of conflicts does not refer to traditional geopolitics, which was understood as synonymous with conflicts and totalitarian states, but rather to territorial conflicts that expose the territorialization of Agribusiness and Agroecology in Goiás, with social movements and the peasantry being the main actors in Agroecology and resistance to agribusiness.
