Abstract

This technical report seeks to highlight the role of the Biblioteca Seccional Câmpus Goiás - Cajuí/UFG within the heritage theme, going beyond its physical collection and highlighting the participation of this place in the process of construction, preservation and dissemination of existing cultural references in the city of Goiás - GO. It aims to show the great value of libraries in relation to heritage, whether as cultural heritage, place of memory or as a space for heritage education actions, and how the librarian can play the role of mediator of heritage education, having the library as the locus of all action. The research procedures were based on two methodological flows. The first one consisted in a literature and document review to obtain subsidies for building the theoretical framework. Then, a heritage education action was offered, in the form of a free workshop to the community, at the Cajuí Library, in partnership with the ceramist and visual artist Samuel de Sá (Ssá Arte). The aim was to clarify the importance of heritage education and the participation of the library in this process, concluding it with the creation of the research product, a website entitled "Biblioteca de Memórias e Resistências" (Library of Memories and Resistances), a tool that brings together in a single place, in an organized and easily accessible way, all the technical and artistic production (audiovisual materials) collected through the heritage education workshop held in the environment of the Cajuí Library. These will enable the experience, recognition, and appreciation of holders of traditional knowledge from the city of Goiás, who work on cultural diversity, in a non-formal education environment. We conclude that making the library space available so that the community's traditional knowledge holders can be heard and understood by the community opens space for these memories, which have been marginalized and silenced until now, to be shared with various audiences. Thus, there will be an attempt to define and reinforce belonging, and to widen the social boundaries, hitherto restricted, with references to a hitherto unknown past. The experience optimizes the view that the heritage education action, through the sharing of memories and traditional knowledge in a collective way, enables an infinity of possibilities in which the cultural heritage can be worked in the library environment.
