O museu Casa da Cultura Coronel João Elias da Silva Caldas em Itaberaí-GO : inventário e exposição colaborativa

Abstract

This study intends to demonstrate a research sourvey about the collection of the Casa da Cultura Coronel João Elias da Silva Caldas Museum, a cultural asset located in Itaberaí, city of Goiás, created in 1993. Furthermore, besides in museum collection analysis, we presented an investigation about the city’s historical and political formative path considering the fundamental participation of the local comunnity, since its origen until the current Itaberaí city. Iconographic and written documents concerning the institution museological and the city were the sources to the development of this research, as well as the analysis of the museum’s collection. We also analyzed the oral history from interviews with people related to the museological institution, students and city’s inhabitants who dialogued, talking about their memories and contribution to the representation of the itaberina cultural identity. This study also reveal two products: the inventory of the Casa da Cultura Museum, a vast collection: 6,255 objects and the proposal for a temporary exhibition, entitled “Knowledge and Doings in Itaberaí-GO - a Collaborative Exhibition”, originated from implementation Heritage Education workshops for Colégio Estadual Rocha Lima students, in the city mentioned above and counting on my cooperation as teacher and museum researcher. In the area of Heritage Management, inventory’s creation aims at surveying, identifying and documenting the collection of the Casa da Cultura Museum. Then, in Heritage Education, the exhibition, focus on the narrative about the occupations, aims to strengthen the connection museum with the community.
