Abstract

The present master's research seeks to answer the following questions: How to promote the development of reading and textual production in students of Basic Education? How to work, in an interdisciplinary way, the disciplines of Portuguese Language and Science with a view to literacy? To do so, we aim to promote the development of reading and text production in students of Basic Education, through texts of scientific dissemination (chronicles), having as background the literacy in a social perspective and, by extension, the scientific literacy, thus, working the Portuguese Language and Science Teaching in an interdisciplinary way using pedagogical workshops. Based on the selected theoretical framework, we tried to develop teaching strategies that would enable the development of literacy in a sociocultural approach, from the perspective of social practice, according to authors such as Street, Kleiman, Moraes, and Marcuschi. We elaborated pedagogical workshops (educational product) to be developed with students of Basic Education, going through the path of reading, reflection, analysis and interpretation of texts, and subsequent debate aimed at the development of argumentativity and text production. We conclude that the path is fruitful and likely to be continued, since it contributes to the development of reading and literacy in a social perspective, which corroborates the achievement of the main objective of education, which is the comprehensive training of students, as recommended by the guiding documents of Basic Education in Brazil.
