Do edifício histórico ao espaço urbano : um estudo sobre a Estação Ferroviária no Centro Pioneiro de Anápolis-GO

Abstract

This research contemplates the theme of the central areas of cities as the dynamic locus and witness of several times, inserted in a scenario conducive to devaluation, decharacterization and loss of symbolic value. The spatial clipping is the center of the city of Anapolis, a middle city in Goiás that, despite having a recent history, presents a dynamic of remarkable transformations that has deeply modified its landscape and socio-spatial organization. In this process, the substitution of the past architecture is highlighted by architectures without quality, unfamiliarized from its original context, ranging from aesthetic sterility to precariousness in terms of infrastructure, a fact that demonstrates the need to think about the preservation of historical cultural heritage in this context. From this, the "Prefeito José Fernandes Valente", name of the Railway Station, Anapolis’historical patrimony, located in the pioneering center of the city, becomes a point of prominence in this discussion, given the clear importance to the city, both in the historical, symbolic and economic field. The focal point of the analysis addresses the critical situation in which this historic building was located and the process of intervention it has been going through, located in a place that is in full transformation, due to a struggle for the reservation of the listed building, a recent history where the facts are still in progress. What is considered in this process of intervention and in the study that has been done of a well located in the center of the city is not the restoration itself, but it is the possibility of understanding how people (population and managers) see the city, as the public policies are related to the preservationist debate and how a punctual intervention in a building can act and impact both in the area in which it is inserted, broadening the repercussion scale, and in the attitude of society towards the theme.
