Um percurso de memória urbana e cultural: uma análise da Rua Cel. Aquiles de Pina em Anápolis-GO (1900-2023)

Abstract

Cel. Aquiles de Pina Street, in the central area of Anápolis/GO, is traversed along a route full of historical reminiscences. The street's landscapes are striking because it houses an ambience full of memories and buildings that chronologically reflect the history of Anapolis. This place becomes an example of resilience in the midst of the population's lack of belonging. The unreasonable transformations made by locals themselves are recurrent, especially in the central areas of the town. However, it is possible to see some relevant historical vestiges remaining at Cel. Aquiles de Pina street, even in the midst of modifications, those vestiges can be catalysts for the local memory. The purpose, therefore, was to capture this place of memory in order to highlight the importance of this route for Anapolis. Methodologically, the research is divided into bibliographical and documentary research - where stories and photographs are seized that tell how this landscape was formed; and field research - in order to observe the transformations through the permanence of the buildings in the urban environment. Photography was the analysis method chosen to better demonstrate the object, both through time and today. In addition, reports taken from social media through comments were important to understand more about locals' perception of the street. Cel. Aquiles de Pina street is a living museum for the city; to the attentive eyes, passing along this street is to visualize the marks of time not only in the buildings, but in their very existence. From the flow of muleteers to the rush of emergencies at the Hospital Evangélico Goiano - present in its surroundings - its liveliness runs through the bandstand and James Fanstone Square, the other health facilities and local shops. Cel. Aquiles de Pina street materializes historical experiences and memories that have been lost in time, forgotten and barely noticed. In conclusion, it is necessary to rescue this route so that more citizens of Anapolis can experience a sense of belonging and, consequently, contribute to safeguarding this place.
