Abstract
Mathematical science arose to meet the needs of primitive man and has been developing this way over the centuries, becoming a fundamental part of the daily life of contemporary humanity. Therefore, this dissertation aims to develop the study on Financial Education, after all, we live in a capitalist society and it is necessary that the individual is prepared to act consciously, especially in relation to capital and consumption. In the educational field, financial education emerges as a cross-cutting theme to significantly contribute to the broad, deep, and contextualized formation of the apprentice as a citizen. In this way, preparing you for the world of work and for the modern society in which we are inserted. The dissertation is divided into five chapters. In the first one, we address the theme about the history of financial mathematics, in the second about Financial Education in official documents within the Brazilian context. In the third chapter, a research was carried out on the knowledge of Financial Mathematics with high school students and newcomers to Higher Education, in the fourth chapter Financial Mathematics was approached from the perspective of active methodologies and meaningful learning aiming at Financial Education. The fifth chapter presents the educational product, teaching material and videos that, through Financial Mathematics, aims to achieve Financial Education
